I spent 2 nights and would come here again. the daily breakfast was particularly nice with free wifi and a variety of cheeses and yogurt. the location was very central, perfect for exploring a nearby castle and gallery. There are also boutiques and shops right next door, which was convenient.

My wife is a vegetarian and the hotel's dinner buffet did not feature any vegetarian dishes. The waiter went into the kitchen and prepared a complementary dish of pasta and vegetables, just for her. Nice service. There is a newer (1940's) building to the hotel, and 3 from the 1800's. Be sure to ask for accommodation in the older buildings for more charm.
Be aware some rooms in the one historic building face a railway track - and the crossing closes and opens at night with a ringing alarm bell. This could be a problem for a light sleeper.

Very comfortable hotel, with friendly staff. A really lovely place to stay and in a good location for all the amenities of the town.
A little bit quiet in the lounge areas. Could have had a better stocked bar and a little background music to create an atmosphere, as it's a beautiful but underused area.

Excellent facilities and tastefully decorated lobby and lounge common areas. Very helpful and pleasant staff. Location was excellent for the castle and a short walk to the shopping areas.
No major issues but the stairs to the second floor annex are narrow and steep. Only an issue when carry large luggage pieces.
